I am a singer/songwriter, Youtube artist, and aspiring musician. If you stick around here, you'll probably get to know me better than you wished to. (but i suggest sticking around anyway) :)
Holidays are near!!
The calendar says fall but Mother Nature doesn’t, seeing as the high was 94 degrees.
Nonetheless, I did attempt to wear my flannel shirt. I think I will wait until it gets a little cooler for next time though…
On Sunday, my family and I went to our river house for an afternoon of relaxation and hanging out. It was nice to get away for a little while! Travis (my fiancé) and I kayaked in the Tennessee river, and that was fun! It wasn’t too hot outside, and there was a nice breeze. That night we all ate dinner together and made the drive home.
On Monday, I just tidied up around the house and caught up on some work. I enjoyed my day off; I don’t get them very often! Now I’m ready to get back in the studio and buckle down on this EP!
Life of a musician = last minute gigs, and nothing is ever the same -I love what I do!!
In the midst of being in the studio day in and day out, I had the opportunity to play live last night, and it was a blast! I was able to preview a song from my upcoming EP, and it was so weird and fun to actually sing one of my songs for actual people (instead of singing in my bedroom to my cat, like I usually do).
I am so thankful for where God has perfectly placed me to this point in my life, and I am so excited for WHERE I GO.
So, I am the type of person who never knows what to say when someone asks me, “What do you want for your birthday?” Why? Because when I want something, I buy it then! I say this to say, I’m not the most patient person, and sadly, when working on a project, sometimes you are forced to be patient.
Many people know by now that I am working on my very first Ep (YAY)!! But, the process has taken longer than expected. The songs have become more intricate than I anticipated. This is actually a good thing, and I’m more excited about these songs now than I was when I started this whole process! I have talented people working alongside me, which I also never anticipated, but I am so thankful for it!
I will be deciding on a release date, album cover, title, and all those great things soon, so stay tuned for that! Also, be sure to follow my social media sites to be “in the know” 😉 links will be at the bottom of this blog post.
Because I have been so busy on my Ep, you have probably noticed that I have not devoted much time to my YouTube channel. This actually hurts my heart. Making YouTube videos is absolutely one of my favorite things to do, but right now, the Ep is the priority! I hope you guys can understand that, and just hang in with me a little longer! 🙂 I’m so thankful for all the support I’ve gotten so far, and I honestly cannot WAIT to share my Ep!! I hope y’all will love it as much as I do! ❤
say hi –
Here we are in the last week of July, and I’m just like, “wait, where did the summer go?” Time flies when you’re having fun! I’ve been so blessed this summer to be a part of SO many musical adventures. It seems like almost every weekend I was singing at a wedding or doing some kind of event. This past weekend, I played at a local youth event in the afternoon, and I played at a church event that evening! At times it has been stressful and overwhelming, but I really wouldn’t have it any other way. I love my hobby!
Music has allowed me to get out of my comfort zone and go new places and meet new people.
If there is one thing I have learned this summer, it is this:
Music has no barriers.
Music brings people together.
I loved getting to explore the northeast with my fiancé and his family! While we were there, we got to go to a Phillies game, which was my very first major league baseball game!
We also went to the Strasburg Railroad and road the train!
I got to experience “water ice” and authentic Philly Cheese steaks!
But most importantly, I got to spend quality time with my soon-to-be family! I can’t wait for many more adventures!
Well, the EP is officially in the works! I’m so stoked about the progress I’ve made this far, even though it has only been a couple of days. I don’t know exactly when it will be finished, but I will be updating my blog along the way!
Of the songs I have picked, only one has previously been posted on my YouTube channel, and it was a live version. So I’m excited to see how it sounds in the studio!
Mostly, I am excited to finally be creating something out of the songs that I have written. Some are new; some are old. But each one has a story and means something to me.
So, back in January, I gave a list of my New Years Resolutions. Well, now I’m finally getting around to them. Over the past couple of weeks, I have made it my mission to eat right and exercise everyday. So far, I have been successful, and I am actually beginning to enjoy it! This morning, I woke up bright and early (around 6:30 am), ate a balanced breakfast, and went for a mile run. My dog decided to join and keep me motivated. Here are a couple of photos I snapped after the run… (You might notice I’m laying on the ground in the first one…)

I was surprised to realize that instead of being exhausted all day, I was actually more productive than I have been in weeks! Maybe this health/fitness thing isn’t so bad after all!
On February 19, 2016, my best friend and the love of my life asked me to marry him!!
He proposed at one of our favorite spots that we’ve been going to since we first started dating. After he popped the question and I said “YES” this was one of the pictures we snapped. LOL.
There were no hidden photographers, and it was an intimate moment between just us, and I love that. Actually, no one even knew he was proposing on this night because apparently, he had set a day in March to propose and had told our close friends and family that it would be that day. But, he couldn’t wait. This night was the night. So we got to surprise everyone! I’m so blessed by this man, and I can’t wait to marry him. Let the wedding planning begin!
Today, I played on a local TV show, “6 in the City.” Aside from tornado sirens going on in the background, it was so much fun!
I played two covers, “Bright” by Echosmith and “Sunday Morning” by Maroon 5, and I played two of my original songs, “Where You Go and Where You Come From” and “She.” Both of these songs will be on my upcoming EP. Yes, I said it, and yes, it is for real. To be released late spring or early summer. I’ll be sure to post lots of updates, but I am just so so so excited for everything that’s happening right now!
